Today I'm sending 4 cards. To USA, Serbia, Germany and Estonia. This one is going to Germany and all the rest were traditional Pori cards. I have to buy more of those later today.
So far I've sent 85 cards and received 79 cards. This is a really nice hobby and I'm always excited when a card reaches my mail box. Shopping for cards is great too!
This one is going to Austria. It has a certain autumn feeling. Yesterday we got the first snow this winter. But it has all melted away now. I wish we will have a real winter this year!
This kind of cards will be sent to Germany and France. I just love the colours in this card. Also one traditional Pori card is going to South Australia.
The weather is getting colder day by day. Nights are really cold and roads are dangerously icy. In some parts of Finland there is already some snow. This part is usually the last to get so much snow that it would last long. There hasn't been much snow in the last few winters. Sometimes there is a lot of snow and temperature is -25 celsius, but mostly the winter is just -5 degrees and some snow.
Since my summer job ended last month I haven't been able to update this blog so often. I'll try to put the received cards here as soon as they arrive. I think I have to stop scanning cards that will be send because if I wait for a right moment to scan the card will leave really late.
Yesterday postman brought a card from Côte d'Azur in French Riviera. A bit difficult name to write and pronounce, but I'm guessing the place looks really amazing.
This bird card is going to Puerto Rico. The printed text on the back says: "The rare peregrine is the fastest bird in Finland. The juvenile, after its virgin flight, has already a stern stare of an adult bird."
Pahis ("The bad one") 2 years old. We found him wondering outside when he was really young. We took care of him and he stayed with us. All our cats are indoor pets.
Pikkis ("The little one") Pikkis is 3 years old. We went to a animal shelter and found him. He was just a little kitten and someone had left him beside a busy road. Pikkis is quite shy, but likes all the attension.
Lotta (Finnish girls name) Lotta is 1 year old burmese. We are hopeful that she will have kittens this autumn.
Finally I found a nice city card of Pori. I bought 5 of these. The first one is going to USA. The building on the other side of the bridge is actually the university I go to.
And on the other side there is a nice map of Finland and where Pori is situated.
This sweet summer card is going to Germany. Summer has been really weird this year. In early June we had a good heat wave and yesterday it rained so much that cars and houses were in danger. I just hope there are some warm days still left!
Two of these cards are on their way to Germany and Turkey. I bought the cards from a small local shop in Kauvatsa. My summer job as a paint factory office clerk is situated here. Kauvatsa is a really small country village 50 km from Pori. I've been working here for seven summers - that's really a long time, but I like job and people. Kauvatsa is a part of Kokemäki, a little bit bigger town (population 8000). I lived in Kokemäki for 13 years. I moved to Pori to study when I was 19 years old.
Yesterday postman delivered two cards. Both of them were sent from USA, but "The Charles Bridge" card is originally bought from Prague, Czech Republic. The black and white cat card goes to my cat card collection.
